Europe Re-Launches The Black Party!
The Black Party has roots in the United States and in Europe. In 1980, a new age started that revolutionized gay nightlife and help for the development of what we now call house music.
Later in that decade, AIDS and drugs dramatically change the way people were partying and some very hostile city administrators around the world succeeded in shutting down the different clubs and party promoters. This was all in an effort of trying to stop this very contagious and addictive music and the growing popularity of all the gay circuit parties. This act left behind all possible collaborations and understandings of what needed to be done to overcome all dangers but it also left us forgetting the artistic and cultural part of it.
Some of these gay parties, like the Black Party in the 90s, quickly became part of the gay circuit party phenomenon. These new parties were also saturated with an overly intense gay sexual energy that by the end of the night transform the events from being a house music blow-out into full gay orgy. To this day, Black Party attendees are encouraged to “dress heavy, uninhibited and in black”. Thousands of gay men check their inhibitions at the door and create a unique vibe during the event, developing an atmosphere of testosterone and extreme hedonism.
The Black Party has been one of the best gay dance parties in Amsterdam, Spain and New York City for the past 10 years, with parties held in some of the top venues, with the most incredible line up of djs and decadent shows.
In Amsterdam, Westzann, they are not only bring back The Black Party, but this gay circuit party to an even bigger level and back to the original roots working in association with some other event producers in the world to successfully produce what they believes could become one of the biggest circuit party in Europe. DJ and Music Producer, Peter Rauhofer of Star69 Records and Work! will bring back the key elements working on the production of the newly redesigned concept together with Benjamin Aillery as exclusive producers.
