Daniel Radcliffe to Be Honored by The Trevor Project
The Trevor Project’s mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ youth by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources including our nationwide, 24/7 crisis intervention lifeline, digital community and advocacy/educational programs that create a safe, supportive and positive environment for everyone. Every year The Trevor Project awards The Trevor Hero Award.
On Monday, June 27, 2011, Daniel Radcliffe will receive this award during "Trevor LIVE" at Capitale. The annual show benefits the life-saving work of The Trevor Project and will also honor Ernst & Young LLP with the Trevor 2020 Award.

Each year following Pride, The Trevor Project, the leading crisis intervention and suicide prevention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, brings together top talent to celebrate and honor leaders and role models for LGBTQ young people. This high-profile event has honored actors and comedians including Kathy Griffin, Neil Patrick Harris and Vanessa Williams and corporate trailblazers such as Levi Strauss & Co., Wells Fargo Bank and CNN for their support of LGBTQ youth.
"Young people deserve to live in a world that accepts them for who they are, regardless of a person's sexual orientation or gender identity," said Radcliffe. "As an ally, I'm honored that The Trevor Project has selected me to receive the Trevor Hero Award, and will continue to raise awareness about the life-saving resources they offer for LGBTQ youth."
A star of stage and screen, Radcliffe has been involved with The Trevor Project since 2009, appearing in public service announcements and making public statements in support of LGBTQ youth. The Trevor Hero Award recognizes an individual who serves as an inspiration to sexual minority youth and increases visibility and understanding of the LGBTQ community.
"As our country becomes more in-tune to supporting the needs of LGBTQ youth, it is vastly important to have influential voices model the best ways to do that. Both Daniel Radcliffe and leading professional services organization, Ernst and Young LLP, exemplify that dignity for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, is an innate human value," said Charles Robbins, Executive Director of The Trevor Project.
Trevor LIVE at Capitale in New York is a signature annual event of The Trevor Project. This Pride season event brings together top entertainers and corporate leaders to support the organization's lifesaving initiatives, including its free and confidential lifeline, suicide prevention workshops, community outreach, advocacy efforts and educational resources.
